Earth2air at Turbulence Kitejam 2006
Well with the Summer almost over and Autumn looming around the corner, September brought the promise of some breezier weather for the UK's kiters, and what better way to celebrate than with Turbulence KiteJam 2006.
This year's event promised to be the best yet with a whole week of freeride kiting and evening entertainments based in Llandudno, North Wales and taking in some of the best and most spectacular beaches the UK has to offer. With no official competitions, this event was very chilled and all about celebrating the spirit of power kiting. Everyone was encouraged to just enjoy the atmosphere and good company.

The week started well with some good winds for land and water based fun but dropped off mid-week with rain and very little wind, although the rain was replaced by glorious sunshine and blue skies later on. All this hanging about on the beach praying for wind did of course mean that everyone was fully charged up to make the most of the social events on offer every evening, ranging from BBQs and dry-ski slope madness to team events and the infamous end-of-week party.
As usual, the boys at Turbulence did a fantastic job on the organisation front and have worked long and hard to develop a good relationship with the local authorities to keep power kiting alive and kicking in this area of the UK. Earth2air will defintely be back next year to attend what is fast becoming one of the UK's premiere kiting events.
